Professional experience :

Nicolas Ulmer is a highly experienced international lawyer specialising in Arbitration, trans-national commerce and contracts and related issues of private and public international law. He has acted as counsel in more than 80 international arbitrations. These matters include both major and medium sized disputes, and have been venued in Switzerland, France, Germany, Sweden, UK, US and several Latin American countries and under most major arbitration rules, and in English, French or Spanish.
Mr. Ulmer has also acted as arbitrator or mediator in more than 35 international disputes, including both ad hoc arbitrations and proceedings under the ICC, LCIA, SCC, Swiss Rules, WIPO and other rules. In his commercial practice he is active in the negotiation and drafting of all manner of international contracts, joint ventures and corporate matters. Mr. Ulmer has particular substantive expertise in international sales, commodity transactions, conflict of law and jurisdiction issues, construction and sports law.
He has lectured and published widely on international legal topics, and was the recipient of the 2010 Smit-Lowenfeld Prize for the best English-language article on an arbitration topic.
